Easter Afternoon Walk

After having a fun morning celebrating Easter with family, there were a few things that Kyle needed to get measured out at the property. While he was doing that, the girls and I decided to take a walk and look at what we all found!

It was a beautiful day but chilly and windy! Thankfully we were able to get out of the wind and enjoy the sunshine and saw lots of wildflowers along the creek!

We were so excited when we found so many raspberry shoots! As we were walking along, the girls kept coming up with different ideas on how to use them.

Some ideas they mentioned:

• eating them all

• making jam

• raspberry pie (?)

• having them with brownies

• raspberry ice cream

  
  

We will see what we all decide to do with them!

We also checked to see how our garlic that we planted late last fall was doing and I was so excited to see that it was growing well! We we planted it late in season and in very wet, clumpy soil but it was coming up great. We had to use corn to cover it last fall to keep it warm so we spent a little time making sure it was all uncovered! I am so grateful we got this planted and that it is doing well because there is something about fresh home grown garlic that we all love!

It is so amazing that all of this will be our 'backyard' soon!
