How it all Started...

For the past several years, Kyle and I have been wanting to move out of the Columbus area and for awhile we looked at moving farther east. We then quickly realized we wanted to move closer to family, not farther away so when a few other opportunities arose, we knew we needed to shift our search location.

After looking at several properties, we came across some land in Versailles that we fell in love with, but it was fully planted in corn, so we had to wait several months to be able to see it fully. Once the corn was off, all of our preliminary checks were completed, we purchased the 28 acres!
Before the land was ours, we had started to dream of what we would be able to turn this land into and even though we know it is going to be a lot of work, we are excited for this newest adventure and to be able to expand our current business, Homanstead!
Several year ago, we created the business Homanstead to be able to sell our eggs and were hoping to be able to sell honey (but the bees had a hot summer). We always dreamed that we would be the ability to expand it one day and now we so excited to be at that point!

We are not sure of what the future will look like fully, but we have dreams of more goats, getting chickens again, expanding our apiary, and possibly getting some cows and pigs! There are talks to planting fruit trees, berry bushes, wildflower fields and of course a large garden!
Follow along as we take on this amazing adventure that God has blessed us with!
